People address me using the wrong pronouns

Is a service still addressing you by your deadname or using the wrong pronouns? The Institute can contact them and point out that deliberate misgendering contravenes anti-discrimination legislation. They must ensure that your preferred name and correct pronouns are used both in their systems and in their communications.

If you wish to report this to the Institute, you may include evidence (such as screenshots, emails, etc.) showing that you have been (repeatedly) addressed by your deadname and/or incorrect pronouns, as well as documents or screenshots showing that they are aware of your current name and/or pronouns. If you have also communicated with the service or company about this (for example, via email), please do include this with your report. We will then have all the information we need to process your case and – if you wish – to contact the service or company (we will only do this with your explicit consent).

You can also report other situations where your gender identity and/or gender expression are not respected to the Institute.
