My insurer refuses to cover the costs of my medical transition

Are you a trans person with questions about your insurance, or are you experiencing difficulties with reimbursements? The Institute can provide you with information, with no obligation, or contact your insurer if you wish. For example, the Institute can intervene if your insurer wrongly refuses to reimburse the costs of your medical transition.

To enable us to help you in the most effective way, please include details in your report about the specific problem, whether the procedure is yet to take place or not, and your communications with your insurer. You may also attach any documentation relating to your hospitalisation insurance and any documents from your doctor and/or psychologist. All information will be treated confidentially, and we will not take any action without your explicit consent.

You can also report any other instances of unfair treatment you have experienced in connection with your transition to the Institute.
