Someone is threatening to share my intimate images
If you are over 18, the Institute can help you to have the images removed. If you would like our help, please provide us with the URL link to the blackmailer’s account and, if possible, screenshots showing the threats. If you are under 18, you can contact Child Focus for assistance.
On the website Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse | StopNCII.org, you can have your intimate images ‘hashed’ so that they cannot be shared on certain social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, etc.
Do not respond to the threats and do not do what the blackmailer asks. Report and block the phone number or profile on the social media platform. This will prevent the person from contacting you again.
'Sextortion' is a criminal offence for which you can file a complaint with the police. If you wish, the Institute can support you in this. Gather all elements (screenshots of chat conversations, emails, the blackmailer’s bank details) that may serve as proof.
You can also report other similar incidents you have experienced involving digital sexual violence to the Institute.
