How can we help you?
Have you experienced, witnessed or heard about unfair treatment, or would you like some advice? Are you unsure whether what you experienced constitutes a form of discrimination, such as on the grounds of sex, gender, pregnancy, motherhood, medically assisted reproduction, family responsibilities, gender transition, gender identity or expression, or other equivalent criteria? Were your boundaries crossed and do you think you may be a victim of digital sexual violence?
Report it via the freephone number 0800 12 800 (Monday to Friday between 9 am and 12 noon). Outside these hours, you can leave a message on the answering machine. Alternatively, report it to us via the notification form.
If you wish to report discrimination on grounds such as skin colour, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief, please contact Unia.
The Institute is not authorised to intervene in cases relating to private or family disputes (such as divorces, issues concerning the residence arrangements of minor children or family disputes).

These are examples of discriminatory situations. This list is not exhaustive. You may have had other personal experiences, or may have noticed situations that you feel are discriminatory, which are not included in these examples. Please do not hesitate to report these to us as well, so that we can analyse them.
What do we do with your report?
We’ll listen to your story and assess whether your report can be dealt with by the Institute. If there’s evidence of gender-related discrimination or sexism, we’ll advise you on the next steps you can take. The information, advice and legal assistance provided by the Institute are completely free of charge and confidential. Don’t be left with questions, the Institute has the answers.
How do we go about it?
We will only contact the other party and help you find out-of-court solutions if you wish us to do so. The Institute never takes any steps or action on its own initiative regarding the cases submitted and acts solely with your consent. In some cases, the Institute may take legal action alongside the complainant and may decide to pay some or all of the legal costs. Read more about how we work and what you can expect.
